UDALLAS RELEASE: University of Dallas Gupta College of Business to Launch New Analytics-Focused M.S. Programs

UD Extends Unique Position as Only Texas Catholic University to Offer Cyber, Data Degrees

Irving, TX (05/23/2019) — The University of Dallas is proud to announce the launch of two new graduate programs in the Satish and Yasmin Gupta College of Business: The Master of Science in Cyber Intelligence and the Master of Science in Financial Analytics, which are both accepting applications for the 2019 fall semester. Both new programs combine the industry's most sought-after skills to help students meet the growing analytical demands of top businesses in a data-driven world.

The University of Dallas is the only Catholic institution in Texas to offer graduate-level business programs in the emerging fields of cyber security, cyber intelligence, business analytics and financial analytics, accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

"The creation of these programs was driven in response to the changing needs of businesses today," said Gupta College of Business Dean Brett J. L. Landry. "We want our students to be ahead of the trends and have the technical skills and experience to make an impact as leaders in their workplaces."

Building on the success of the university's nationally ranked cybersecurity program, the 42-credit-hour M.S. in Cyber Intelligence specializes in the application of skills in the key fields of business analytics and cybersecurity. The STEM-designated program combines industry cybersecurity principles - such as cryptography, penetration testing and forensics - with up-to-date statistical and programming techniques ever more relevant across evolving business sectors. The University of Dallas cyber program is designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The 42-credit-hour M.S. in Financial Analytics specializes in the application of data science and forecasting in the highly competitive finance industry. The STEM-designated program combines fundamental business analytics skills, such as data visualization and database management, as well as predictive modeling and programming, to make financially strategic decisions.

The launch of these new Master of Science programs signals a continued focus on providing a premier business education, one that matches the needs of an evolving business community, delivered by knowledgeable, expert faculty in the University of Dallas Gupta College of Business.

"A cornerstone of our programs is the experience of our faculty at the University of Dallas," said Landry. "As experts in their fields, our faculty are able to teach the application of current skills to our students in ways that allow them to make big impacts from day one."
