Alessandra Marchi named Clare Boothe Luce Scholar

2016 Apr 11

Alessandra Marchi was named a Clare Boothe Luce Scholar this April and received a full-tuition-and-fees scholarship for 2016-2017.

The Clare Boothe Luce Fund encourages women to enter, study, graduate and teach in science, engineering and mathematics.

Marchi hopes to pursue nanotechnology in biomedical applications after graduating from the University of Dallas.

Since 1989 the Clare Boothe Luce Scholars Program has become the single most significant source of private support for women in science, mathematics and engineering. Clare Boothe Luce was a playwright, journalist, U.S. Ambassador to Italy and the first woman elected to Congress from Connecticut.
