Angelo Novello Elected to Student Government Executive Council

Angelo Novello, a University of Dallas student from Half Moon Bay, California, was elected president of the Student Government Executive Council for the upcoming 2017-18 academic year. Campus-wide voting was open March 29-31, and winners were announced on April 5 through the student-run newspaper The University News.

The Executive Council is responsible for setting Student Government's annual goals and overseeing the senate and various boards and committees, including Student Programming (SPUD). Council members are elected for a one-year term, which commences on the last day of the 2017 spring semester. This year, the executive council established the first University of Dallas Women's Conference and instituted the tradition of Las Posadas, a re-creation of the journey of the Virgin Mary and Joseph asking for hospitality.
