Sarah Steiger Presents Chemistry Research

Sarah Steiger, a senior Chemistry major from Ovilla, Texas, was one of ten University of Dallas students to present research to a panel of university chemistry professors.

Steiger's research, "Synthesis of Coupled ZnO/Cu2O Semiconductors via Photodeposition for Improved Semiconductor Efficiency," examined photocatalytic activity and semiconductor efficiency. Steiger completed her research at the University of Dallas during the summer of 2017.

Undergraduate research is a requirement for the university's B.S. degrees in both chemistry and biochemistry; it is most frequently completed during the summer after a student's junior year either at the University of Dallas in Irving or another research institution.
