Trae Hampton Earns Scholar-Athlete Award for 2nd Consecutive Year

Trae Hampton, a rising senior on the University of Dallas men's soccer team, earned the Scholar-Athlete Award for the 2016-17 academic year. This is the second straight year Hampton has received the honor. The award is handed out annually to the letter-winning varsity student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average.

Since the award's inception in 1984, 17 University of Dallas student-athletes have received the honor including current Associate Professor of English Greg Roper.

Hampton is majoring in Biochemistry with a concentration in Spanish. He has lettered the last two seasons with the Crusaders. In the last two years, Hampton has been named to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National All-Academic Team, and Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Fall Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll.
