William Scudder Presents Chemistry Research

2017 Oct 10

William Scudder, a senior Biochemistry major from Fredericksburg, Texas, was one of ten University of Dallas students to present research to a panel of university chemistry professors.

Scudder's research, "Using Zebrafish as a Brain Model for Testing the Anticonvulsant Properties of a Photoactivatable Diazepam," examined photoactivatable diazepam in zebrafish . Scudder completed his research at the University of Miami during the summer of 2017.

Undergraduate research is a requirement for the university's B.S. degrees in both chemistry and biochemistry; it is most frequently completed during the summer after a student's junior year either at the University of Dallas in Irving or another research institution.
