UDALLAS MEDIA ADVISORY: "Of a Feather''

Irving, TX (04/01/2019) — The University of Dallas Beatrice M. Haggerty Gallery is proud to announce the installation of the "Of a Feather" exhibit. The group exhibition "Of a Feather" showcases the rich relationship between birds and the artists who love them. Birds have long held a prominent place in art: physically they fascinate with their visual beauty, flight, music and dance, and symbolically they function as harbingers of death, keepers of secrets ("a little bird told me") and, like the dove, bearers of peace.

Featuring artists Kathy Boortz, Isabelle Du Toit, Billy Hassell, Jules Buck Jones, Mark Messersmith and Melodee Ramirez, this exhibition celebrates a very contemporary expression of the unique coloring, exciting patterns and distinctive silhouettes of these winged creatures.

The exhibition will run April 5 - May 5, 2019, with the opening reception on Friday, April 12, from 6 to 8 p.m.
