National Alumni Board Commend Alumni for 'Distinguished Accomplishments'
Irving, TX (05/02/2019) — The University of Dallas will commend its 2019 Distinguished Alumni - the highest honor the university can bestow upon its alumni - during a reception and dinner on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the Dallas Omni Hotel. The annual award recognizes alumni who have demonstrated sustained and distinguished accomplishments and contributions to any field of human endeavor.
Nominated by their peers on the university's National Alumni Board, award recipients of the 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award include Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers, MTS '00, one of the most sought-after speakers in the Catholic church today; University Trustee Laura Felis Quinn, BS '86 MBA '18, an expert in qualitative market research for the pharmaceutical industry; U.S. Deputy General Counsel John R. Parker, BA '83 MBA '89, a highly respected career federal prosecutor and former U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas; and Professor Emerita of Drama Judy French Kelly, BA '63, an Emmy-award winning video producer, former department chair and co-founder of the University of Dallas Drama Department.

HIGHLIGHTS:
- Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers, MTS '00, is a graduate of the University of Dallas Ann & Joe O. Neuhoff School of Ministry, and currently serves as president and CEO of Servant Enterprises Inc. He is the author of The Mass in Sacred Scripture and is a frequent contributor on Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN).
- Laura Felis Quinn, BS '86 MBA '18, serves as a member of the University of Dallas Board of Trustees, lending her knowledge to the board's marketing committee. Before her role as trustee, Quinn served on the National Alumni Board. She leads a pharmaceutical market research consultancy, a field in which she and her husband, Peter, have been experts in for nearly 20 years.
- As deputy general counsel for the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., John R. Parker, BA '83 MBA '89, leads a staff who provides legal advice on a variety of issues including ethics, procurement, and fiscal and administrative support. Prior to his present role, he served as U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas, where he was responsible for all federal criminal prosecutions and civil litigations for a district with a population of more than 8 million people.
- Professor Emerita of Drama Judy French Kelly, BA '63, founded the University of Dallas Drama Department along with her husband, Professor Emeritus Patrick Kelly. A passionate member of the Dallas/Fort Worth performing arts community, Kelly continued her career in theater after retiring from the university. She has produced and directed a number of award-winning independent television productions and art features.
