Nearly a dozen University of Dallas seniors received honors and awards at the spring 2023 graduation ceremony in May.

With an essay that began as a Junior Poet final paper, a recent Constantin College graduate took first prize in the Sigma Tau Delta honor society's annual Beth DeMeo Poetry Awards.

Named for former U.S. Rep. Hatton Sumners, the Hatton W. Sumners Foundation encourages the study of American self-government through scholarships and grants. Since 2002, the Foundation has funded scholarships for students in the University of Dallas Politics Department who show exceptional civic concern and promise. Earlier this month, the Sumners Foundation honored scholarship recipients who are launching into life after UD. At-large scholarship recipients were also recognized.

University of Dallas sophomore Biology major Sarah Henriquez recently received the university's Dr. Raymond D. DiLorenzo Award, which is awarded annually to a student whose Literary Tradition II essay is nominated by their professor.
