UDallas Crusaders March for Life in Washington

Forty members of Crusaders for Life, the largest student club at the University of Dallas, traveled from Dallas to Washington, D.C., to participate in the annual National March for Life the last weekend of January 2020. The trip marked the university's first-ever official participation in the national pro-life rally.

UDallas Opus Dei Members Volunteer in Mexico

Sixteen University of Dallas Opus Dei members recently returned from Monterrey, Mexico, after completing a week-long service project for a local school, Ciudad de los Ninos, which provides nearly 1,000 children of low-income families with an education of high academic standards along with a well-rounded Christian formation. The spring break service project was sponsored by the Wingren Study Center, an Opus Dei center that hosts speaker series, service opportunities, meditations and mentoring to male students from the University of Dallas and surrounding colleges in North Texas.

UDallas Campus Ministry 'Mercy Crew' Volunteers at Habitat for Humanity ReStore

Six University of Dallas Campus Ministry students recently volunteered at Habit for Humanity ReStore, a nonprofit home-improvement store and donation center that sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories and building materials. The university's Office of Campus Ministry sends groups of students, known as the "Mercy Crew," to participate in several community service outings each semester.

Beginning in the early morning on Sept. 1 and lasting well into the afternoon, groups of students, faculty and staff displayed their support for the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts as they volunteered with the Dallas-based nonprofit Trusted Worlds. Volunteers gathered supplies and donations on campus and provided assistance at the Trusted Worlds Hurricane Harvey donation site in North Dallas.

Local Students Serve Community as Part of University of Dallas Alternative Spring Break

The following local students were among a contingent of University of Dallas students and campus ministers that traveled New Orleans or Kansas City, Mo. in March for this year's Alternative Spring Break (ASB). In Kansas City, students volunteered with A Simple House, helping prepare and deliver meals to homeless people and to repair the house that serves as a base for the group's ministry. In New Orleans, students repainted crypts at a Catholic cemetery and worked at The Arc, a community center for people with mental and physical disabilities, and Capstone, an organization that fixes houses damaged by Hurricane Katrina.

Local Students Assist with Disaster Relief as Part of University of Dallas Alternative Spring Break

The following local students were among a contingent of University of Dallas students and campus ministers that traveled to Joplin, Mo., on March 4 for this year's Alternative Spring Break (ASB). While there, the group of 15 spent a week painting and cleaning Catholic Charities offices that were damaged by an F5 tornado that devastated the city nearly 10 months ago.
