Nearly 500 University of Dallas undergraduate students were named to the fall 2019 Dean's List for earning a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

More than 300 University of Dallas undergraduate students were named to the fall 2019 Honor Roll for earning a semester GPA of 3.0-3.49.

Three business students enrolled in the Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business at the University of Dallas were recently awarded scholarships for their entrepreneurial spirit and outstanding leadership during the 37th annual Texas Business Hall of Fame (TBHF) on Wednesday, Oct. 16, in San Antonio, Texas. The students were among 36 awardees from across the state to be honored with the TBHF's Future Legends Scholarship. The TBHF awarded each a $15,000 competitive scholarship endowed by The Mitchell Family Foundation.

University of Dallas junior Jasmine Adams recently received the English Department's inaugural Lendvay Short Story Award, on Thursday, Oct. 10, named in honor of the late Marilyn Lendvay, BA '70 MA '76, who taught English and tutored students in writing for 17 years at Eastfield College, a part the Dallas County Community College District.

More than 50 University of Dallas student-athletes were recently named to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) 2018 fall semester Academic Honor Roll, ranking the university with the third most student-athletes to receive the distinction among 378 total recipients from nine SCAC conference institutions. In order to qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.25 for the academic semester and serve as a regular member of a conference-sponsored varsity athletic team.

The University of Dallas Track and Field Programs recently garnered All-Academic Team honors for the 2017-18 NCAA Division III seasons by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). University of Dallas rising senior Ashley Hinojosa was recently named a recipient of the National Speakers Association 2018 Bill Gove Scholarship Award. NSA awards six scholarship grants each year to eligible juniors, seniors and graduate students who wish to be pioneers in the public speaking industry. The association has awarded more than $350,000 to students since the program's inception in 1989.

More than 100 University of Dallas students completed the spring 2018 semester studying abroad at the university's 12-acre Eugene Constantin Campus just outside Rome, Italy.

University of Dallas men's soccer player Trae Hampton was recently named the university's Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the third straight academic year. Hampton is the third student-athlete since the award's inception in 1984 to receive the accolade all three eligible years. The Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award is given annually to the letter-winning varsity student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA.

Twenty-seven University of Dallas English majors recently presented their capstone senior novel projects, the culmination of intensive research and writing on a major English-language novel. The senior capstone is required of all English majors in order to satisfy their degree requirements.

Four University of Dallas music seniors recently performed in a senior recital on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. The senior recital was the culmination of four years of study for the music students.

Seventeen University of Dallas English majors recently had published papers accepted into the 2018 convention for the international English honor society Sigma Tau Delta. The university's honor chapter, Alpha Sigma Pi, initiated in 2011, organizes various events on campus, such as senior-junior mixers and poetry and literature celebrations. The society offers numerous benefits to its members, including scholarships, internships and publishing opportunities.

Three University of Dallas art majors recently presented their senior exhibitions during the spring 2018 semester. The exhibitions were displayed on campus from April 23 to May 4, 2018. Completion of a senior exhibition is one of the final requirements of art majors in order to graduate.

Four University of Dallas students were recently elected to the Student Government Executive Council for the upcoming 2018-19 academic year. Campus-wide voting was held March 22-23, and winners were announced on March 23 through Crusader Connect, the university's online portal for student clubs and organizations. The Executive Council is responsible for setting the Student Government's annual goals and overseeing the Senate and other various boards and committees, including the Campus Activities Board (CAB). Council members are elected for a one-year term, which commences on the last day of the 2018 spring semester.

Three University of Dallas drama majors recently directed their senior studios during the spring 2018 semester. The senior studios ran April 26-29 and were performed in the Margaret Jonsson Theater on the university's Irving campus. Completion of a senior studio is one of the final requirements of drama majors in order to graduate.

Fourteen University of Dallas students recently performed their spring 2018 mainstage production of Anton Chekhov's "Cherry Orchard." The play, directed by Associate Professor of Drama Kyle Lemieux, ran April 4-14, 2018.

Sixteen University of Dallas Opus Dei members recently returned from Monterrey, Mexico, after completing a week-long service project for a local school, Ciudad de los Ninos, which provides nearly 1,000 children of low-income families with an education of high academic standards along with a well-rounded Christian formation. The spring break service project was sponsored by the Wingren Study Center, an Opus Dei center that hosts speaker series, service opportunities, meditations and mentoring to male students from the University of Dallas and surrounding colleges in North Texas.

Eighteen University of Dallas music students recently performed in a Brown Bag Recital on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. Each semester, the university's Music Department hosts a series of Brown Bag Recitals on campus, gathering the talents of UD's music students.

University of Dallas freshman forward Spencer Levi was recently named National Rookie of the Year by D3hoops.com (National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III). This is the 21st year the organization has selected and published its annual All-American Team. The announcement came in Salem, Virginia, as part of the pregame show for the 2018 men's basketball National Championship. Levi placed on the second All-American Team and earned his accolade, Rookie of the Year, for the South Region.

University of Dallas senior Margaret Schuhrieman was recently awarded the Ropke-Wojtyla Fellowship from the Catholic University of America's Busch School of Business and Economics. The Ropke-Wojtyla Fellowship educates future Catholic intellectuals and business leaders in the moral and economic defense of the free enterprise system as instructed by Catholic social thought.

Four University of Dallas Master of Fine Arts students recently presented their final thesis exhibitions. Presentation of full documentation of the exhibition, including an artist statement, is one of the final requirements for students graduating with a Master of Fine Arts.

Six University of Dallas Campus Ministry students recently volunteered at Habit for Humanity ReStore, a nonprofit home-improvement store and donation center that sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories and building materials. The university's Office of Campus Ministry sends groups of students, known as the "Mercy Crew," to participate in several community service outings each semester.

Nearly a dozen University of Dallas Campus Ministry students volunteered at Ashford Hall, a nursing home in Irving, Texas, last fall semester, on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017.

Nine University of Dallas Campus Ministry students volunteered at Feed My Starving Children, a Christian nonprofit that provides nutritionally complete meals specifically formulated for malnourished children, on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017.
