Nearly 450 University of Dallas students were named to the fall 2017 Dean's List for earning a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

More than 300 University of Dallas students were named to the fall 2017 Honor Roll for earning a semester GPA of 3.0-3.49.

Thirteen University of Dallas music students performed in a Brown Bag Recital on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018. Each semester, the Music Department hosts a series of Brown Bag Recitals on campus, gathering the talents of some of the university's music students.

Ten University of Dallas theology majors presented their senior theses during the fall 2017 semester. The completion of a senior thesis is one of the final requirements of theology majors in order to graduate.

Forty-five University of Dallas juniors recently completed "Junior Poet," in which each student selects a poet and conducts a major research project on that poet and his or her body of work, culminating in a half-hour presentation to a panel of three faculty members. "Junior Poet" is required of all English majors in order to satisfy degree requirements, though students from outside majors often choose to take the course as well.

Eight University of Dallas student-athletes were recently named to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National All-Academic Teams. Student-athletes to earn the accolade include players in men's soccer, women's soccer, volleyball, men's cross country and women's cross country.

Sophomore Mary Kate Tomassi, BA '20, "embodies the diligent student who loves learning mathematics," explained Assistant Professor of Mathematics John Osoinach, as faculty and students gathered in Constantin Garden on Wednesday, Nov. 15, to honor Tomassi's achievement as UD's first recipient of the Waldemar J. Trjitzinsky Memorial Award. UD was one of seven schools in the country selected by the American Mathematical Society (AMS) to bestow the award on one worthy student who plans on pursuing a career in mathematics.

Nearly 30 University of Dallas students attended a performance of Giuseppe Verdi's Italian opera "La Traviata" on Friday, Oct. 27, at the Dallas Opera.

Twenty-nine University of Dallas students have been elected Student Government senators for the fall 2017 semester.

University of Dallas sophomore Biology major Sarah Henriquez recently received the university's Dr. Raymond D. DiLorenzo Award, which is awarded annually to a student whose Literary Tradition II essay is nominated by their professor.

Nearly 80 University of Dallas juniors served as committee volunteers during the university's week-long Charity Week. Proceeds raised during the university-wide fundraiser were donated to three nonprofits that align with the university's Catholic identity: Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas, Jonathan's Place in Dallas and Texas Children's Hospital in Houston.

Four student-athletes on the University of Dallas women's lacrosse team were named to the Independent Women's Lacrosse Schools (IWLS) All-Academic team for the 2017 season. In order to qualify, students must carry a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 for the 2016-17 academic year.

The University of Dallas men's soccer team defeated the nationally ranked No. 4 Trinity University in San Antonio on Sept. 15. The overtime game-winner was the first-ever Crusader victory on the road against Trinity.

Ten University of Dallas students presented their research to a panel of university chemistry professors.

Nat Kajiwara, a freshman forward for the University of Dallas men's soccer team, impressed his teammates and coaches in the first match of his collegiate career, scoring both goals for the Crusaders in a 2-1 overtime victory against George Fox University on Sept. 1.

Beginning in the early morning on Sept. 1 and lasting well into the afternoon, groups of students, faculty and staff displayed their support for the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts as they volunteered with the Dallas-based nonprofit Trusted Worlds. Volunteers gathered supplies and donations on campus and provided assistance at the Trusted Worlds Hurricane Harvey donation site in North Dallas.

Trae Hampton, a rising senior on the University of Dallas men's soccer team, earned the Scholar-Athlete Award for the 2016-17 academic year. This is the second straight year Hampton has received the honor. The award is handed out annually to the letter-winning varsity student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average.

Respectively earning one of the nation's most competitive scholarships awarded in academia and research, Phillip Wozniak, BA '15, and Emily Files Collins, BA '17, now join nearly four dozen University of Dallas alumni to receive the highly sought-after Fulbright, including UD's first student-winner in 1962, Professor of English Robert Scott Dupree.

Five student-athletes from the University of Dallas men's basketball team were named to the 2016-17 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court. These students were recognized for excelling academics during the past season.

Jessie Koster, a 2017 graduate and four-year letter winner with the University of Dallas volleyball team, was nominated for National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Woman of the Year. Koster was among 197 female student-athletes to be nominated in NCAA Division III, and among 544 candidates in all NCAA divisions.

When the University of Dallas' largest freshman class in history moved in this fall semester, more than 60 orientation leaders greeted the new residents and helped settle them into their residence halls.
